We love seeing new fun experiences debut at Disney World, but it’s always sad to see old favorites disappear to make room. Here’s what you missed this week:

We knew it was coming, but now we have an official date. Go see it while you can, because it will soon be closed to make way for the NBA Experience. Since we’re huge video game fans and meh on basketball, we see this as a crushing tragedy. (via Attractions Magazine)

The Muppet Hot-Air Balloon Is Gone
The iconic balloon above the Muppets’ 3D movie is gone. Word is that it would have been seen from the new Star Wars land being constructed. (via Chip and Co)

New Stuff for Your Next Visit

  • Wilderness Lodge is getting a new open-air poolside bar. On the menu: Shrimp with Miso-Lime Vinaigrette and a Bison Burger with Tillamook Cheddar, along with cocktails and desserts (Chocolate Brownie Mousse with Caramel Popcorn, yum!). (via TouringPlans)
  • A new character breakfast will debut at Trattoria al Forno (along the BoardWalk, walking distance from Epcot) later this spring, featuring visits from Tangled and The Little Mermaid characters. (via Disney Parks Blog)
  • Planet Hollywood Observatory is finally open (again) in Disney Springs, featuring sandwiches by Guy Fieri. via Attractions Magazine)
