4 Disney Movies that Deserve a Ride

From The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, to Peter Pan, and Toy Story Disney movies have served as the basis of many iconic Walt Disney World rides. However, many movies have not received the attraction treatment. Here are four that we think are deserving of a Walt Disney World ride.

Moana

While a water walkway themed to this movie is in the works for the new and improved EPCOT, a true Moana themed ride needs to be present in Disney World. The combination of iconic music, lovable characters, and gorgeous island and aquatic scenery would lend itself perfectly to a ride in the mold of Frozen Ever After. It could also serve as the perfect backdrop to the oft-rumored Fire Mountain

Coco

Coco is perhaps the movie that is the most obvious candidate for a ride. It would be a seamless transition from The Three Caballeros ride in the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT. The scenes from the Dia De Los Muertos combined with classic songs such as Remember Me would make this ride an instant hit while still paying homage to the unique culture and heritage of Mexico.

Monsters Inc.

Even almost 20 years after its release, Monsters Inc. still remains one of the most beloved Disney/Pixar movies. The movie balances comedy, world building, and an iconic chase scene. That lends it to multiple different interpretations of rides that could be made. Imagineers could easily bring over the Monsters Inc. ride from California Adventure or, if they ever decide Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster needs an overlay, could make a door themed rollercoaster themed around Mike and Sully’s iconic chase with Randall.

Beauty and the Beast

This film already has a section of a themed land and a stage show dedicated to it but surprisingly not a ride. A Beauty and the Beast dark ride taking you through the film’s most beloved moments such as the ballroom scene and “Be Our Guest” performance seems like a guaranteed smash hit. Imagineers are already planning for a similar ride in Tokyo, so hopefully it’s only a matter of time before we get it in Orlando.
