Christmas at Disney or Bust!

In Magic Kingdom, Rides & Attractions, Trip Planning by Jennah Pascual0 Comments

It’s that time of year where we’re all hustling and bustling, anticipating the merriest season while we figure out where we’ll spend it. My go-to this year? Disney’s Magic Kingdom. I had major FOMO last year when my good friend Snapchatted her entire day at the Magic Kingdom during her Christmas vacay (see a very happy Torrie below). Meanwhile back at the ranch, I was down for the count with the flu on my birthday, coincidentally on Christmas Eve (which may explain my Nightmare Before Christmas obsession).

Can’t go wrong with Minnie ears and a cold brew!

This year, I’ve boosted up my vitamin C intake and have managed to undergo my annual flu earlier than usual.  I’m telling you–it’s Disney or bust for my birthday and Christmas this year! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party, which ends on December 22nd, but rest assured I have reserved my three rides via Fast Pass+ for Magic Kingdom.

What’s great about the Fast Pass is you don’t have to pay for it. With a purchase of an entry ticket, you can reserve times to get on rides and visit attractions in the order that works for you at no extra cost! You just have to be sure to act fast, since availability can change. The Disney World app makes it fairly easy to do so, and I learned that you can always change the Fast Pass+ schedule if need be (but don’t forget that options may be more limited the longer you wait).

After breakfast at Be Our Guest restaurant (I also have a slight Beauty and The Beast obsession), I’ll be hitting the rides. I’m a roller coaster type of gal, so here’s the order of rides I set up via Fast Pass+:

  1. Space Mountain
  2. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  3. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

My visit is going to be a peak day, so I wanted to get those in ASAP. A few of my other faves are the Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and of course the Mad Tea Party. They have maps of each park at Disney World, but the app has one built in as well. My strategy is to get there early, follow the map on my phone for rides, food, maybe a meet a princess, and end with a bang watching the fireworks show with my two best friends while wearing our matching custom Mickey Mouse themed ears and shoes (check out the links in my author profile)!

I’m clearly excited, guys. It’s nice to know that even at age 28, Disney still manages to fascinate me and so many others. I’ll be sending Torrie a few pictures of my own this time around!
