The castle will be the highlight of your visit this time of year.

There is nothing quite like the holiday magic that Disney brings to their guests each and every year at their theme parks. One minute it’s Halloween at the Magic Kingdom, and the very next day the park is transformed into a winter wonderland. If you are one of the many who never get tired of Christmas and turn it into a two month celebration, then Disney World is the perfect place for you to visit this holiday season with your sweetheart.

Christmas time at Disney can be overwhelming because just like any entertainment this company provides, it’s always going over the top, and completely mind blowing. Disney doesn’t waste time or energy. Therefore, planning the perfect date during the holiday season can be a tad bit intimidating because there are so many things to see. I am going to list some of my favorites for you that are inspired by my experiences in hopes to provide magical Christmas date ideas for you and your significant other.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Every dreamed of what it would be like to see snowfall at the Magic Kingdom? Well on select nights your dreams can come true at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! If you have experienced the Halloween parties at the Magic Kingdom, this is a similar type of event, where only guests with special event tickets are allowed to attend. The Holiday Wishes Spectacular, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, A Frozen Holiday Wish, and special meet and greets with characters in their holiday costumes, complimentary food and drinks, special exclusive holiday treats and Santa are some of the offerings during the Christmas parties.

Enjoy the following complimentary food items this year:

  • Tortuga Tavern: Snowman Soft Pretzel & Snow Cone
  • The Friar’s Nook: Dove Chocolate & Sparkling Cider

Tickets start at $94 piece for adults 10+ and children 3-9 $89 depending on the night you choose to attend, keep in mind the closer it gets to Christmas, the higher the ticket costs will be. You can purchase your tickets online here.

Life-Size Gingerbread

If you have time outside of your theme park plans make sure to make a stop to witness the beautiful, giant, completely edible gingerbread houses at the Disney resorts! This will be the 19th year that the Grand Floridian pastry chefs took 160 hours to build a life-size gingerbread house located in the main lobby of the hotel. This beautiful house took 400 baking hours to make!

So much talent!

Also at the Grand Floridian, the Resort is completely decorated for the Holidays with their beautiful Christmas tree and garlands. This is defiently a great chance to take some beautiful photos. Disney sure knows how to turn any place into Christmas magic!

The Grand Floridian is my favorite resort to visit especially during the holidays.

I love the Grand Floridian Christmas Ornaments!

The Disney Beach Club Resort is also featuring a life-sized Lilo and Stitch themed edible carousel with 18 hidden Mickeys! How incredible is that?! Oh yes and it also spins.

This is a great way to take a break from the craziness in the theme parks, walk around, and relax with your loved one. All of the Disney resorts have food, bars, and gift shops if you decide to hang around a little longer.

Christmas Tree Trail *NEW*

Experience the beautiful themed Christmas trees now at Disney Springs from November 10th-January 7th! There is a total of 25 trees beautifully decorated in Disney inspired themes beginning over by Once Upon A Toy in the Marketplace.  Some of the themes include Moana, Frozen, Sleeping Beauty, and  Peter Pan every day from 10AM-10PM. I suggest getting to Disney Springs around 4PM, because this gives you the opportunity to experience Springs a little before nightfall. Also perks of being at Disney Springs is its the one of very few places you can park for FREE at Disney! I always like to park in the Orange garage because it gives me an excuse to walk all of springs and experience all the different themed neighborhoods it has to offer. There is plenty of Dining, places to get drinks, and lots of unique shopping experiences for you and your cutie to enjoy this holiday season.

These are just highlights of many wonderful experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays. Brace for crazy crowds, and chiller evenings in Florida, but when its all said and done there is no place that compares to the magic at Disney during Christmas!
